“Pineapple Twist” Juried Into Joseph Miller Abstract Photography Exhibit

Hockett’s abstract, “Pineapple Twist,” began life as a photograph of a pineapple done in Andy Warhol Pop art fashion. Postmodern coloring and elements common to much digital art, including symmetry, order, and tension, add to the aesthetic. While defined lines are distorted with intense waves and resulting shapes show layering and depth, creative recyclability is its most notable virtue.

The work was juried into the 8th Annual Joseph Miller Abstract Photography Exhibit and will be on display at the Joseph Miller Center for the Photographic Arts in Gainesville, VA from Saturday, May 5 through Monday, May 28, 2018.
